While other kindergarteners were drawing stick figure self-portraits I was busy drawing the details of my new dress and shoes, right down to the shoelaces.
I have always carried paper and pencils with me because I'd never know when the inspiration would hit. I went to college taking every art class I could -- painting, photography, ceramics, digital design, and more.
I went to cosmetology school and then massage therapy school, and worked in both fields for a few years. After an injury I found myself working for a web design company.
I started designing graphics for their websites and after a few years was the head web designer. Before Facebook was around I helped design a website for NJ Singles and that's how I met many friends I still have today.
I got married and had two boys. Most of my time is dedicated to my sons, who both have different special needs. It's been a struggle. I have found a way to continue to create while also being involved with my boys. I volunteer much of my time their schools. I have worked on their yearbooks, Home & School Association and became a Den Mother.
The last decade I have designed playmats, deckboxes, frames, shoes, t-shirts, websites, company logos, clay ornaments. I have designed and painted the sets for a dance school, canvas paintings, murals on walls, clay incense houses, and costumes. It sounds like a lot but it's really not. My focus is still on my two kids. As they are getting older it's getting easier to be the "art chick" I was destined to become.
In 2023 I was accepted into Lunar Faire Sparta Ren Fair as a vender. This was a major turning point in my small business. With my boys older it is must easier to focus on what makes me happy at my core. You can read more about me here.
